Three brothers in Northern California made a surprising discovery while clearing out the attic of their late mother’s home: an original 1939 Superman #1 comic, in remarkably pristine condition.
Hidden beneath stacks of old newspapers and dusty cobwebs, the legendary issue had been forgotten for decades, untouched and perfectly preserved — truly a once-in-a-lifetime find that could change their future.
As they continued searching, the brothers also uncovered five early issues of Action Comics, the series that first introduced Superman to the world. According to Heritage Auctions, the six magazines — kept safely from the era of the Great Depression through the start of World War II — could be worth a life-changing fortune.
6 millions dollars, 3 rich brothers
The collection was handed over to the auction house, whose team traveled to San Francisco to evaluate the items. Their mother had always claimed she owned valuable comics, but no one imagined she had preserved something this rare.
The auction, expected to attract collectors and investors worldwide, will take place from November 20 to 22. It could be sold up to 6 millions dollars.
