The PSG players have already secured their place in football history. Now, they have almost earned a place on the streets of Paris too.
To celebrate the first-ever Champions League back-to-back by a French club, the artistic collective “The True Fame” decided to temporarily rename several famous streets, avenues, and bridges in the French capital after the stars of Paris Saint-Germain.
As a result, Rue Pache became Rue Pacho, Rue de Douai was transformed into Rue de Doué, and the iconic Pont de Bir-Hakeim was renamed Pont de Bir-Hakimi in honor of Achraf Hakimi.
Head coach Luis Enrique was also recognized, with Pont Saint-Louis becoming Pont Saint-Luis, while Ousmane Dembélé received his own Boulevard Ousmane.
Other PSG stars featured in the project included Vitinha, João Neves, Nuno Mendes, Fabian Ruiz, Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
In total, 14 symbolic locations across Paris were given temporary plaques describing the players as “architects of the first back-to-back title.”
The initiative highlights just how much this PSG generation has captured the imagination of supporters. And if the Parisians manage to win a third consecutive Champions League, they may have to start renaming the entire city.
