Originally scheduled for July 4, the event was moved to June 14, which is celebrated as Flag Day in the United States and also happens to be Donald Trump’s birthday. The U.S. president is expected to attend the show.

However, several concerns remain. UFC president Dana White has admitted that thunderstorms are the biggest threat to the event going ahead as planned. Temperatures could also reach 33°C (91°F), creating challenging conditions for fighters and fans alike.

Another issue is the presence of insects. Following a recent visit to the White House, White expressed concern about the large number of gnats and other bugs around the venue.

The event is also facing legal opposition. A complaint has been filed in federal court seeking to cancel the show, with critics arguing that the White House grounds should not be used for a private sporting event.

Seven fights are scheduled for the card, including the highly anticipated lightweight title unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. French heavyweight star Ciryl Gane will also return to action against Brazilian legend Alex Pereira.
