A shocking tragedy has rocked Brazil after a 21-year-old woman died during a bungee jumping activity when the safety cords were allegedly never connected before her jump.

The accident occurred on Saturday in Limeira, in the state of São Paulo. According to preliminary findings from police and witness accounts, staff members responsible for the attraction reportedly failed to attach the victim’s safety equipment before sending her off the platform.

Fatal 40-Meter Fall Sparks Outrage

Videos shared on social media appear to show three men carrying the young woman to the jump point before pushing her from the platform. Moments later, panic erupted among spectators, with several people screaming, “The rope! The rope!”, after realizing the safety system had not been connected.

The victim reportedly plunged around 40 meters. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but were unable to save her life and pronounced her dead shortly after the fall.

The incident has caused widespread outrage across Brazil. Military police confirmed that six people have been detained as part of the investigation. Two suspects allegedly attempted to flee the scene before being located with the assistance of a police helicopter. The victim’s fiancé, who witnessed the tragedy, was also hospitalized after suffering a medical emergency. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine exactly how such a catastrophic safety failure could have occurred.
